Mountains, clouds and horse head fiddling with the Hacketts

Freshwater Staff   -

In 2023, Daniel and Katie Hackett, along with their three children, answered the Lord’s call on their family to teach and serve the people of Mongolia. Below is the most recent update from the Hacketts, including a video at the bottom of the page. Click here to see their update from earlier this year!

We have almost completed our first full year here in Ulaanbaatar! We have learned a lot, and there is still much more to learn.

We are happy to have a summer break with a lighter language load and exploring the city as a family. We are looking forward to seeing more of the countryside and experiencing the Naadam holiday in July! As we get to know the Mongolian people and their country deeper, we become closer to understanding better ways to be serving here.

We are so incredibly proud of our three kids through things they are learning and experiencing! They have proven to be adaptable, open, adventurous, accepting, tough and human (just like the rest of us!). They certainly have surprised us in what they are absorbing.

We hope this summer will create opportunities to make this place feel more like home to them.

Prayer requests for our family include:

  • We can take advantage of summer to connect more with community around us
  • Enjoy a break from language classes, and use it to become more comfortable with language we do know
  • Watch their Video Update!
    Celebrating 50 Years of CAMA

Our sending organization, Compassion And Mercy Associates (CAMA), is celebrating 50 years of transforming lives and restoring communities. CAMA is the relief and development arm of Alliance Missions, which is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (The Alliance).

Click here to learn more about who CAMA is, what we do/have done, and why we do it.

Also, CAMA will be having a big get-together to celebrate the 50 year anniversary this October in Chiang Mai, Thailand… and we get to go! We’re so excited to be a part of this event and to gather and fellowship with our CAMA family from around the world. Prayers for God to continue to bless the work of Alliance Missions, and CAMA specifically are appreciated. As well as prayers for the celebration in October.
