Community Practice: Be a Family Around the Table

Freshwater Staff   -

Despite the unprecedented connectivity of the modern era, genuine community is vanishing. Isolation, transience, and superficiality can sabotage our formation into people of mature love. To apprentice under Jesus is to join a new kind of family – a highly relational, joyfully-connected kinship group that follows Jesus not just around a stage, but in growing intimacy around a table.

The Quiet Place

This video from Practicing the Way explores the radical simplicity of life around a table, rooted in Jesus’ vision of family. Discover how true community is not found in the crowd but formed through commitment to a few.

Scripture Memorization

Throughout the year, we are asking every disciple to memorize a portion of Scripture each month. We believe that one of the most transformative practices in our faith is understanding the Bible and being able to apply it to our lives. The verses that were chosen correlate to the disciplines or content that will be practiced that month.

This month’s verse: Hebrews 10:24-25 and Galatians 6:2
