Scripture Practice #3: Study
The library we call “the Bible” can connect us to God and change who we are, but distraction, hurry, and confusion can hinder our experience with these ancient texts. Rediscover how to engage Scripture as an apprentice to Jesus.
WATCH: “Study”
The library of Scripture isn’t easy to understand. In this video from Practicing the Way, we’ll discover how the process of learning what the text says — to the original audience and to us today — helps us listen to God and obey whatever he says.
- Optionally, you can download a digital copy of the companion guide from Practicing the Way by clicking the blue button at the bottom of the page. The notes for this particular Scripture practice, Study (session 3), start on page 60 of the guide.

Scripture Memorization
Throughout the year, we are asking every disciple to memorize a portion of Scripture each month. We believe that one of the most transformative practices in our faith is understanding the Bible and being able to apply it to our lives. The verses that were chosen correlate to the disciplines or content that will be practiced that month.
This month’s verses: John 15:9-11 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17
