Freshwater Life

Freshwater Church has called Wadsworth, Ohio home for more than 80 years after first opening its doors to the community in 1932. Located 45 minutes south of downtown Cleveland and 20 minutes west of downtown Akron (depending on who is driving, of course), Freshwater has a deep conviction that people are yearning to connect with God, to know Him, so our ultimate goal is simple: to help people encounter Him. Time and again, we hear comments about how real the presence of God is during our services, and wherever the living God is present, powerful ministry follows. We have moved away from printing an order of service each week because we’ve found when God shows up, all our plans get blown up anyway.

Freshwater’s average age of 36 reflects the family-focused community of Wadsworth. All generations attend our church, from babies to grandparents and everyone in between, all together. We like it that way. There’s something about knowing someone who has lived a long time with God, who doesn’t get worked up about trials and suffering, and there’s something equally as inspiring about providing a safe place where the next generation of believers can spread their wings and release their God-given passions into this world.

We would love to have you come and visit. One of our mottos is, “Making room for more,” and we’ve got plenty of room.

God has blessed us with steadily climbing attendance numbers for years (average increase of about 10% annually since 2003), so to make room for more people, have moved into our new facility at 590 Hartman Rd., an exciting transition that has kept us on our knees praying for Divine guidance and intervention.

FRESHWATER BASICS

This 3-4 hour class is about all things Freshwater. Find out more about what we believe as well as our church history, our vision and our denomination, the Christian and Missionary Alliance. This class is required for membership, but we encourage you to take it even if you’re not ready to commit to membership and just want to find out more about Freshwater.

Our leadership team is committed to serving the Freshwater community with love, grace and humility, understanding that a church can succeed only if its Pastors, Elders and other staff members submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the authority of Jesus Christ.

Convinced that every person matters and needs to be transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we exist to be a Spirit-led body of believers in which the presence of God is fresh and alive, restores life, brings healing and produces growth to those in the church and around the world.

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

No matter your situation or your season in life, Freshwater has a ministry that will build you up and strengthen your faith.

Freshwater is so welcoming, the members so loving and inviting. You never feel unnoticed or unappreciated.

I love Freshwater because of the people. I feel welcomed, loved and accepted, and have felt that way since my family and I first started attending.

You feel God's presence in every service at Freshwater. The week's problems and concerns almost roll off your shoulders as you walk through the front doors.
