Winter 2021 Women’s Study | Sermon on The Mount
February 2 - March 30 | At Freshwater, Online, On Your Own
What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? The Sermon on the Mount articulates what the life of a Christ follower should look like, asking us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? In this 9-session study, examine the words of Jesus in-depth as He challenges us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification.
Our In Person Groups will meet Tuesday mornings and will be small groups of 10 or less women who you will remain with the entire 8 weeks. With this group you will watch the video and participate in group discussion all in the same room. Each woman will be required to wear a mask the entire 90 minutes once entering the building along with social distancing in your room (unfortunately no exceptions can be made based on the church’s policy for indoor gatherings at this time). We understand that this may be difficult for some women and so we have provided other options for you to consider if this does not seem desirable. (No childcare will be available for this study.)
Our Virtual Groups will also meet weekly on a given day or evening based on your availability. We are planning on creating virtual groups of up to 9 women where you will be able to share what you are gleaning from our study, hear how others are processing these timely truths, and then have the privilege of praying together. We will provide you a link for the teaching and you’ll be able to watch at your convenience before your group meets each week. We have found throughout the spring and summer that this is a surprisingly powerful time for connection – even when physically distanced.
Our Email Groups seem to be a wonderful option for those with little ones in particular and for those who like to process in written form. This format offers the most flexibility in that you are able to watch the teaching and respond to your email group at your convenience. Your email facilitator will reach out regularly with questions and thoughts.
And if you’d like to simply listen and study on your own, that’s totally good too! You, too, can receive the link to the teachings! Please just sign up so we know to send it to you.
